We’re pleased to share that the Northamptonshire Heritage Fair will return for 2026 - and it promises to be another fantastic celebration of the county’s rich and varied heritage.

Taking place on Sunday 26 April, 10am–4pm at Wicksteed Park, the event is once again being organised by Discover Northamptonshire in partnership with Northamptonshire Family History Society.

As in previous years, a wide range of heritage organisations from across the county will come together to showcase the stories, collections and research that make Northamptonshire such a fascinating place.

The event builds on the success of the 2025 Heritage Fair, held at Chester House Estate, which was Highly Commended at the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum Awards.

Interest in the 2026 event has already been exceptionally strong, with exhibitor bookings now closed due to high demand - a clear sign of the strength and diversity of the local heritage sector.

A full list of exhibitors is available on the event page on this website.

“We have been overwhelmed by the number of organisations coming to the Heritage Fair this year which builds upon the success of previous events. There is such a rich diversity of history and heritage in the county, and this event will showcase to the public what is on offer on their doorsteps.”
— Cllr Greg Wilcox, North Northamptonshire Council’s Executive Member for Communities

Angela Malin and Janet Lawrence, who are organising the event, highlighted the strong response this year and the breadth of organisations involved, noting the wide range of groups taking part - from archaeology and local history to archives, museums and visitor attractions.

“Northamptonshire is packed with examples of our amazing heritage and this event is a fabulous way to celebrate that. Wicksteed Park of course has its own wonderful history, and we are delighted to be hosting this year’s Fair.”
— Oliver Wicksteed, chair of the Wicksteed Charitable Trust

A historic setting

The Fair will be held at Wicksteed Park, itself a significant part of the county’s heritage. Opened in 1921 by Charles Wicksteed, the park was created with a vision to inspire play and improve health and wellbeing - a legacy that continues today.

Set within 281 acres of parkland, the site offers a fitting backdrop for a day dedicated to celebrating Northamptonshire’s past and present.
