Belinda was presented with a High Sheriff’s Award in recognition of her many years of commitment to the town of Desborough in Northamptonshire - a well-deserved honour that reflects the impact she has made through her work across the county. The role of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire is one of the oldest civic positions in the country, and such awards celebrate individuals who make a significant difference in their communities.

As reported in the Northants Telegraph, the award was presented as a surprise, highlighting both the esteem in which Belinda is held and the breadth of her contribution. In the words accompanying the presentation, she was described as an “incredible” individual whose dedication to her town and county has made a lasting impact.

“In my final week as High Sheriff, I was so pleased to be able to present a High Sheriff’s Award to the incredible Belinda Humfrey. Desborough is a better place because of Belinda’s commitment and energy. This award is a small token of thanks for a lifetime of service.”

This recognition is also a reminder of the vital role played by volunteers and community champions across Northamptonshire. Whether through heritage organisations, local groups, or civic activity, their work helps to keep the county’s stories alive and accessible to all.
