Saturday 25 October 2025 will see the whole county come together to mark Northamptonshire Day, with a vibrant programme of events and activities taking place across the region — and many of our Heritage Forum members taking part.

Hosted in Northampton Market Square from 1:pm to 7:30pm, this special day will feature performances, exhibitions, and hands-on activities that highlight the best of Northamptonshire’s culture, history and community spirit.

What’s happening

The event - organised by West Northamptonshire Council, North Northamptonshire Council, and Discover Northamptonshire - will bring together a wonderful mix of entertainment and local pride, including:

  • Live performances by local artists and groups

  • Heritage and cultural displays exploring Northamptonshire’s rich past

  • Family-friendly activities and interactive experiences

  • Opportunities to meet local organisations, museums, and heritage projects

  • A countywide social media celebration using #NorthantsDay

Businesses, schools and community groups are also being encouraged to join in the fun by decorating their spaces in Northamptonshire colours or hosting themed events and displays.

Why it matters

Northamptonshire Day is an exciting opportunity for residents to explore and enjoy the many stories, places, and traditions that make our county unique. For those of us in the heritage sector, it’s a wonderful reminder of how our shared history continues to inspire creativity and connection in the present day.

It’s also a chance for everyone - whether you’re a lifelong local or new to the area - to discover more about the county’s remarkable past, from its industries and architecture to its people and landscapes.

Join the celebration

We encourage all our members, supporters, and the wider public to come along and enjoy the festivities.

Take a walk through the Market Square, chat with the groups involved (including us - we’ll be in the Heritage Zone), and soak up the sense of community pride that defines Northamptonshire. You can also share your own moments and memories online using #NorthantsDay.

Let’s come together to celebrate everything that makes Northamptonshire special - its people, its places, and its enduring heritage.

Lynne Dickens

Spot On Creative is a Northants-based creative team who have the hard-earned skills, expertise and industry knowledge that only come from having worked for years in advertising. It’s all managed by Lynne Dickens who has over 20 years’ experience in marketing communications, and ten years in website design and build, and creative team project management.

Lynne is also a qualified art historian and has some expertise in curating fine art exhibitions and producing all of the catalogues, posters and supporting material to create a successful event.

All the guys in our team have worked for one-man bands, SMEs and large blue-chip multinationals in just about every sector, field and industry. We can come up with great ideas, superb design and copy, and exceptional photography for anything from websites to email campaigns, branding to brochures – and everything in between.

And the beauty of Spot On Creative is that we’re big in creativity, experience and knowledge, but small in overheads and invoices. So we’re a much more sensible and affordable option for you than a larger advertising agency or marketing company.
